Milwaukee (3619) 132,955 According to the American Community Survey 2022 estimates the population under 18 in the City of Milwaukee declined by roughly 10000 compared to the 2021 under 18 estimates. This is a much greater decline year over year than the previous years' data where the decline in this population was roughly 2000 from 2019 to 2021. Projecting two years out from the 2022 estimates includes the 2019 2021 and 2022 trends and thus the accelerated rate of decline from 2021 to 2022 is affecting the projected estimate for 2024. Additionally since this estimate includes 18 19 and 20 years olds it is reasonable to expect the decline among 4-20 year olds to be greater than 10000 since many 18 19 and 20 years olds leave the city for school work etc.
