The FTE's are not significantly different-seriously from 30 to 29? | Adams-Friendship Area (0014) | 6/13 to 7/29 | 28 | 383 | 4,584,468 | 94 | 0 | Our district offers a full day program and in the past we have been limited by the minutes we can count. This year, according the the 2016 Guidelines, we no longer have that limitation and can count our minutes for our afternoon sessions as well. | Algoma (0070) | 6/7 to 8/13 | 44 | 446 | 1,106,325 | 23 | 0 | We implemented a new course "Leadership Through High Adventure". This allowed targeted students to participated in both targeted and non-targeted offerings. We also participated in the Summer Feeding program. Parents like having meals provided. Finally we offered transportation to the Boys & Girls Club after summer sessions which provided wrap around child care services. | Appleton Area (0147) | 6/6 to 8/19 | 45 | 7319 | 19,660,861 | 405 | 408 | We do not believe that this is a significant change in the FTE, as it is less than a 1% change. However, the change is due to fluctuation in attendance and possibly the new way of assessing minutes for online classes. | Arcadia (0154) | 6/13 to 8/18 | 36 | 850 | 2,884,738 | 59 | 0 | We added a third session of summer school. | Argyle (0161) | 6/15 to 7/22 | 26 | 154 | 427,020 | 9 | 0 | There were more students attending the 2016 Summer School session. | Arrowhead UHS (2450) | 6/13 to 8/19 | 39 | 1053 | 3,623,676 | 75 | 0 | There is no longer a limit on the maximum number of minutes allowed for reimbursement per student per day. We cancelled some classes due to low or no enrollment. | Auburndale (0203) | 6/6 to 7/1 | 20 | 209 | 607,980 | 13 | 0 | summer school count is accurate; only one more FTE | Augusta (0217) | 6/6 to 8/11 | 54 | 407 | 1,273,680 | 26 | 0 | High school classes were offered for credit this year and were not in previous years. |

As such, our elementary school options were reduced during the summer of 2015. We also did not have a middle school play/musical during the summer of 2015 and were able to offer this again during 2016. Our 2013 summer FTE's were 28 and summer of 2014 FTE's were 35. We had a drop in the summer of 2015 for these main reasons and were able to rebound back during 2016. | Campbellsport (0910) | 6/8 to 8/19 | 44 | 420 | 1,383,940 | 28 | 0 | We did not have as many elementary students participate in our program this year. We believe that in part it was due to a new online registration process. If they waited too long and their child couldn't get the courses he/she wanted due to being at capacity, they didn't register them. We also had several families who normally participate express that they were going to be on vacation this year. | Cashton (0980) | 6/6 to 8/26 | 59 | 411 | 1,857,252 | 38 | 0 | We did not offer these classes. Magic School Bus (a primary reading class) - 21,960 minutes in 2015

Lower participation in:
Fundamentals of basketball Grades 6-8 (a PE class) - 15,240 fewer minutes
Fundamentals MS and HS weight training (a PE class) - 114,680 fewer minutes (MS was scheduled for 1/2 the time as last year. HS had poor participation)
Track (a PE class) - 23,088 fewer minutes
Those combine for 227,768 fewer minutes which is the equivalent of 4.69 FTEs. | Cassville (0994) | 5/31 to 8/19 | 54 | 123 | 281,686 | 6 | 0 | Additional summer academic enrichment courses were offered in the summer of 2016. | Cedar Grove-Belgium Area (1029) | 6/13 to 7/8 | 19 | 584 | 1,346,340 | 28 | 0 | Lower student enrollment. | Central/Westosha UHS (5054) | 6/20 to 7/28 | 24 | 370 | 2,385,972 | 49 | 38 | This is due to the rule change in how we are now allowed to count minutes for students doing online coursework. | Chetek-Weyerhaeuser (1080) | 6/8 to 8/18 | 38 | 263 | 265,935 | 5 | 0 | Less weeks of summer school and less participants than last year | Chilton (1085) | 6/6 to 8/11 | 20 | 447 | 971,117 | 20 | 0 | Decreased enrollment. | Chippewa Falls Area (1092) | 6/6 to 8/26 | 59 | 1450 | 4,230,164 | 87 | 0 | Fewer class selections were offered.
In addition, there was a decline in enrollment from the previous year. | Clinton Community (1134) | 6/9 to 7/1 | 17 | 493 | 1,275,778 | 26 | 0 | Improved record keeping by using Skyward's Family access for summer school registration and attendance. The number of participants rose, while the minutes fell. | Clintonville (1141) | 6/13 to 8/28 | 38 | 491 | 1,936,558 | 40 | 0 | Increased days & minutes of classes. | Colby (1162) | 6/13 to 8/30 | 40 | 525 | 891,783 | 18 | 0 | There were a number of classes that we did not offer due to significant changes of classroom locations over the summer. | Coleman (1169) | 6/6 to 7/29 | 38 | 216 | 651,120 | 13 | 0 | The FTE is less as a summer band program was not offered this year as in previous summers. This was due to the retirement of our current band director and a new director was not hired until after the summer school course offerings were established.
Overall enrollment of resident students was down this year (216) versus enrollment of last summer (268). | Colfax (1176) | 5/30 to 8/31 | 55 | 416 | 892,830 | 18 | 0 | We added three new groups to our summer session. | Columbus (1183) | 5/31 to 8/19 | 59 | 641 | 2,454,632 | 51 | 0 | By getting out of regular session in May we were able to offer two 3 week sessions of summer school for all students. This year the change to be able to count all minutes within the day and not limited to 270 minutes had a positive impact on FTEs. | De Soto Area (1421) | 6/13 to 8/24 | 42 | 299 | 949,800 | 20 | 0 | We were down in the HS ACCESS program significantly from last year | Deerfield Community (1309) | 6/6 to 8/26 | 59 | 410 | 1,757,625 | 36 | 0 | Due to the nature of the calendar we offered a 2 week session in June and a three week session in July. A lower number of classes were offered and fewer students attended in July. Last year we offered three weeks in June with a higher attendance rate. | Deforest Area (1316) | 6/13 to 8/26 | 41 | 635 | 1,317,851 | 27 | 0 | For the new summer school year we created a new class titled Summer Strength and Conditioning. | Delavan-Darien (1380) | 6/13 to 8/16 | 34 | 363 | 1,259,703 | 26 | 0 | We have fewer students attending Summer School this summer. (563 Resident students attended in the 15-16 SS, with only 363 Resident students particpating in the 16-17 SS.) We had major construction in our HS, MS, and 2 ES's which prohibited and/or limited access to space available for instruction. | Denmark (1407) | 6/3 to 8/26 | 56 | 860 | 2,609,955 | 54 | 0 | We had more non resident students | Depere (1414) | 6/13 to 8/12 | 42 | 1888 | 3,990,105 | 82 | 0 | Had in increase in student enrollment during the 15-16 school year and an increase in summer class enrollment | Dodgeland (2744) | 6/13 to 7/28 | 24 | 414 | 1,843,399 | 38 | 0 | No change occurred in the FTE. | Dodgeville (1428) | 6/6 to 8/24 | 80 | 563 | 1,307,909 | 27 | 0 | A strength & conditioning class was added this year for students in grades 6-12. East Troy Community (1540) | 6/13 to 9/2 | 82 | 702 | 1,924,452 | 40 | 0 | Overall Resident count up 19 from previous year. Added additional High School course, had more band students, and quite a few more 4k-1st grade students attend. Summer Session was 8 days longer than previous year. | Edgar (1561) | 6/6 to 8/23 | 30 | 505 | 2,398,335 | 49 | 0 | During the Summer of 2016, we had less students attend and we only offered summer school on Mondays through Thursdays. In the past, we offered summer school Mondays through Fridays. Therefore, this summer we had less total days of summer school. This in turn means we had less total pupil minutes as well. Overall, a decrease in days offered, less students attending, and a decrease in total minutes equals a decreased FTE. | Edgerton (1568) | 6/13 to 8/19 | 15 | 912 | 2,661,504 | 55 | 47 | This year, we had additional 3 additional students taking online courses but a higher completion rate of courses which required more minutes than in the past year.
We also added a strength and conditioning course that brought in over 90 students this summer.
Our Basketball Skills and Drills also increased their numbers from the prior years.
I owe our increase mainly to the new strength and conditioning course and are online completion rate. | Elcho (1582) | 6/6 to 6/23 | 12 | 32 | 103,680 | 2 | 0 | Less students participated. | Eleva-Strum (1600) | 6/6 to 8/29 | 60 | 452 | 1,195,659 | 25 | 0 | More students participated and more courses offered for our students. | Elk Mound Area (1645) | 6/6 to 8/12 | 50 | 847 | 1,069,500 | 22 | 0 | This year we had an increase in student participation in several of our summer classes offered. We provided summer transportation for the first time this year that may have contributed to our participation numbers increasing. Also, this year we offered an August M.V. Academy Class which last year we did not offer the class. We also offered a summer reading class this year and last year we did not. | Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah (1631) | 6/13 to 7/15 | 24 | 242 | 747,060 | 15 | 0 | Less high school participation and offerings. | Elkhorn Area (1638) | 6/20 to 8/19 | 39 | 1093 | 4,475,930 | 92 | 0 | Less students signed up for summer school. | Ellsworth Community (1659) | 6/9 to 8/19 | 52 | 725 | 2,481,932 | 51 | 0 | The explanation is explained by the following:
1. For the 2015-2016 year, our summer school FTE was actually low. For the 13-14 school year, we actually had a summer school FTE of 54 and for the 2014-2015 school year, we had a summer school FTE of 56. So the FTE of 50 for the 15-16 school year is actually low.
2. Our elementary summer school for the 2015-2016 school year was split between two buildings instead of located in just one building which is part of the reason that I feel that our 15-16 FTE was lower than normal.
3. Per Wisconsin Administrative Rule PI-17, there no longer is a limit on the maximum number of countable student minutes. This affected our students taking our Ag summer school class experiences. | Elmbrook (0714) | 6/20 to 7/22 | 22 | 2328 | 5,770,294 | 119 | 0 | High School classes took a decline in enrollment | Elmwood (1666) | 6/6 to 8/15 | 30 | 121 | 516,390 | 11 | 0 | More classes offered, and more students attended summer school. | Evansville Community (1694) | 7/11 to 8/17 | 16 | 505 | 1,192,739 | 25 | 0 | 2015-2016 offered enrichment Summer School Program. Fall Creek (1729) | 6/13 to 8/19 | 48 | 444 | 772,960 | 16 | 12 | We changed the structure of our summer school program, we provided transportation and lunch, and the 270 minutes per student restriction per day was lifted. | Fall River (1736) | 6/13 to 8/19 | 45 | 276 | 762,605 | 16 | 0 | This summer we offered more classes during the regular session of summer school.

Also, for the past few years we have offered door-to-door bussing and free breakfast & lunch which I also believe has led to growing numbers of students attending as parents realize and take advantage of those opportunities for their student(s). Finally, our main section of Elementary Summer School was scheduled following the 4th of July holiday instead of being spread over the end of June and the beginning of July which may have encouraged more families to sign up as the session didn't fall over a typical family vacation time. | Kiel Area (2828) | 6/14 to 8/19 | 27 | 576 | 2,230,554 | 46 | 0 | We expanded our summer school program to include a second session. | Kimberly Area (2835) | 6/6 to 8/25 | 58 | 2861 | 6,587,648 | 136 | 0 | Kimberly Area School District had to cancel some 8:00 classes due to lack of enrollment. We ran 3 more 8:00 classes in 2015 than 2016.
In 2016 KASD offered more reading/writing/math classes than in 2015 at smaller class sizes which meant we didn't have the space to offer as many enrichment classes which have a higher teacher to student ratio. |

Our district has a large amount of students who are open enrolled into the district, and subsequently attended summer school courses through our district. Those students were then claimed by their resident districts. Our district does not have a large population of open enrolled out students, so therefore we did not receive many Menasha residents from the surrounding districts. This would explain why our FTE is significantly lower than is has been in the past. | Menominee Indian (3434) | 6/27 to 8/5 | 29 | 140 | 366,660 | 8 | 0 | Enrollment for summer school was down this summer. High school student summer school enrollment was the same as last year. | Walworth J1 (6022) | 6/20 to 7/22 | 24 | 77 | 144,421 | 3 | 0 | We were unable to hold a complete set of summer school classes due to a major construction project going on at our school building. We had a large jump in the number of students. We also started the Free Summer Meals program and had a huge turn out in students for the breakfast and lunch program. I directly credit the summer food program to a large increase and everything being free. Additionally we surveyed students in advance to determine their interests and geared courses towards student interest. Lastly, we offered more courses spread out over the course of summer which means family vacations did not have the normal negative impact they normally do. | Webster (6293) | 6/6 to 8/31 | 16 | 767 | 678,750 | 14 | 0 | We added a full day for all district students this year and had about 75% attendance. | West Allis (6300) | 6/13 to 8/15 | 40 | 1482 | 2,109,492 | 43 | 0 | Summer school offerings were targeted for students with low academic scores. | West Bend (6307) | 6/13 to 8/21 | 24 | 3263 | 5,897,348 | 121 | 0 | Fewer students enrolled in summer school classes. | West Depere (6328) | 6/8 to 8/12 | 47 | 2004 | 4,987,039 | 103 | 0 | This was our first year offering online registration with a registration deadline.
