Auditor Aid Certification (PI-1506-AC)

The purpose of the PI-1506-AC is to provide the department with auditor concurrence with the school district's annual report data submitted on the PI-1505-AC. The PI-1506-AC data will be used in the October 15th certification of aid.

Instructions to guide district auditors through the PI-1506-AC internet report and filing requirements are available on the Audit Manual Index page.

New for 2017-18: 3 Yr Old Educational Programs

Within the PI 1506 AC there is a screen entitled, "Other." On this screen districts have if applicable, entered dollar amounts for expenditures related to "Cost of Lawsuit Against the State" and "Transportation of Indigent Pupils/Environmental Remediation Loan." These costs have been excluded in the calculation of shared cost in the General Aid formula and for the most part affected only a few districts. For 2017-18 districts are now required to identify expenditures related to costs for "3 Year Old Educational Programs." Specifically, districts are to identify all costs including salaries, benefits, materials and transportation that have been recorded in Fund 10 that are associated with educational services for non-special education three year old students. Auditors on the PI 1506 AC will now confirm with the district whether or not the district has a program for 3 year old non-special education students and if so, the total expenditure the district incurred in fund 10 associated with the program.

The financial audit statement aid certification data (PI-1506-LEA, paper copy) is generated from the PI-1506-AC program. It may be accessed directly at Financial Audit Statement Aid Certification Data.

Reminder: Auditors are required to complete the Auditor's Ending Fund Balances application prior to submitting the PI-1506-AC. The Auditor's Ending Fund Balances application requires the auditor to report the district's fund balances as reserved, board designated, or unappropriated based upon the work performed by the auditor.

Report opens on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 and is due on Saturday, October 1, 2022.
