Eau Claire Area (1554)6/13 to 8/1151434816,790,980345410It has been difficult to hire certified staff for summer months since COVID, therefore less courses are being offered and more have been canceled due to staffing shortages. Online course numbers have decreased because we had an increase in the number of students in credit recovery following COVID, and that number has returned to normal this year.

Hamilton (2420)6/15 to 7/152417044,521,1059326This summer was the first since 2019 where we ran a program that more closely reflected our pre-COVID programming, with more sessions offered and students taking in-person classes again.
Hartford UHS (2436)6/14 to 8/3156454325,860714Fewer students were eligible for credit recovery in the summer. In the past, students who failed earning 30%-59% were eligible for summer credit recovery. This summer, students were only eligible at 50% failure. Students earning anything less than 50% had to repeat the class. Additionally, students were able to recover credit during the school year utilizing a school day resource period. We also reduced the total amount of days and hours summer school was offered.

Madison Metropolitan (3269)6/20 to 7/2929315516,432,461338412Staffing shortages were the primary reason. We did not have enough teachers to serve all the students interested in summer semester.
Manawa (3276)6/6 to 8/31714011,335,4492713As the new summer school coordinator, the School District of Manawa offered various summer school courses such a the musical, Agriculture, gen music, rocketry, and several others bringing in higher numbers of interest/student enrolled. While working with Skyward, we identified better attendance practice. We utilized Skyward report features, and reviewed data mining through Skyward to report our minutes.
Maple Dale-Indian Hill (1897)6/20 to 7/2119155433,74292We are back to our full offerings for our summer programs. Two years ago was impacted by COVID. Last year was impacted partially by COVID and the building referendum (lack of space). We expect these numbers to continue moving forward.
McFarland (3381)6/6 to 8/31639151,896,0063921We were able to offer more classes as we had less covid restrictions to operate under during this Summer.
Medford Area (3409)6/6 to 8/31638496,027,93012479For the last two years, we limited our numbers in summer school due to smaller class sizes. This year we did not. We also added additional types of courses that brought in more students.
Menominee Indian (3434)6/6 to 7/21273522,280,9604720We had double the amount of students attend summer school due to Covid. We also had 131 High School students attend summer school to get caught up on credit deficiencies caused by covid.

Nekoosa (3906)6/13 to 7/2838240600,0901226We reduced the offerings and shortened the summer school session.
New Glarus (3934)6/13 to 8/19495221,647,1653424This year's FTE significantly increased due to the fact that we ran summer school similarly to the way we did in 2019 (pre-Covid). We removed some of the restrictions on the number of students per class section and offered more in-person courses. Therefore, more students took advantage of summer school offerings than when we had our stricter Covid protocols in place.
New Lisbon (3948)5/31 to 8/1857314850,3201711Last year our summer school numbers were down due to COVID. We also started having three summer school sessions (one each month) this summer as opposed to having just one. This resulted in more students attending summer school, and students have the opportunity to take more classes in different sessions. Also, due to COVID we saw a larger number of our High School students needing credit recovery and academic support during the summer school period.
Niagara (3969)6/6 to 8/194492246,78053We offered two additional courses this year that were not offered last year as the district's construction project did not allow for the classes to take place. Those courses were offered, once again, this year.
North Crawford (2016)6/13 to 7/2939178822,2801710Due to less COVID restrictions, more students attended summer school. Additionally, more courses were offered.
Northland Pines (1526)7/25 to 8/1215188705,0001510We had a lot in interest in summer school this year.

Rib Lake (4795)6/6 to 8/1834248696,2691410This year saw increased participation, increased course offerings and more overall engagement in summer school following a summer school during a higher COVID period. This summer session also came when COVID protocols had been significantly reduced.

Sevastopol (5130)6/11 to 8/2530128147,91131Last year we were only able to offer online summer school due to our main building being under construction and not able to hold in-person sessions. This year we were able to hold in-person sessions and had a much larger number of students sign up for summer school.
Sharon J11 (5258)6/20 to 7/222096415,26094Not as many students participated in Summer School last summer due to COVID. Not that the pandemic is subsiding, more students are participating.

Southern Door County (5457)6/6 to 8/30475181,322,496273Our new superintendent HUGELY expanded our summer school program, assigning two teachers with previous experience to coordinate and run the program. It was an amazing success, and we'll be doing it again, probably even bigger, next year.

Stevens Point Area (5607)6/13 to 8/3156248711,658,935240186With COVID ending we expanded our summer school program.
Stone Bank School District (3542)6/20 to 8/122377433,93593The district participated in the Consortium Summer School program as we have since pre-COVID. This number is in line with past years pre-COVID. We are hoping to implement more options in the future.
Stoughton Area (5621)6/13 to 7/1154951,399,9692920I believe two factors played an effect on the FTE increase for 2021-22 compared to 2020-21. First, with COVID restrictions easing and having in-person instruction all year that resulted in an increased sense of normalcy, which I think in turn allowed parents to feel better about sending their kids to summer school. In addition, we changed the summer school schedule dramatically, increasing the number of instructional hours. Instead of three 55 minute courses, we implemented two 115 minute courses, which increased the time of instruction by 65 minutes a day.
